About Your Initial Appointment
Your initial appointment will last between an hour and an hour and a half depending on the complexity of your problems.
Please have nothing to eat or drink except water or black coffee for 8 hours prior to your appointment. Continue all prescribed medicines, but no vitamins.
If you have any prior lab work or medical records, please bring a copy to your initial visit for Dr. Brodsky to review. You may also have your records faxed to us in advance at 301-652-6763.
Patient Forms
Please print and complete the forms below before your appointment and bring them with you to your visit.

Appointments
You may request an appointment online or by calling our office at 301-652-6760. We choose to use personal scheduling, as opposed to a voice mail system. Same day appointments are available, when necessary. We call to confirm appointments approximately one week in advance.
Appointment Cancellation
The office requests a minimum of 24-hour notification. There may be a charge for appointments which are not cancelled.
Telephone & Online Consultation
Communication is an important part of a successful doctor-patient relationship. Patients are encouraged to call or use email for clarification of instructions that are not well understood.
As a convenience, the doctor offers telephone and online consultations when appropriate. Some patients due to illness, disability, distance, or time restraints find this more convenient than an office visit. Many problems can be safely and efficiently handled by telephone or online.
Charges for consultation are based on time and are the same whether in the office or on the telephone. Some insurance carriers cover telephone and online consultation. Some do not. Medicare will not.
Medication Refills
Most refills are processed electronically. If one of your medications needs to be refilled, simply ask your pharmacy to fax our office at 301-652-6763 for authorization.
If that is not possible, please fill out the secure, online prescription refill request.
If you do not have access to, or are not comfortable with a computer, please call our office for assistance at: 301-652-6760.
Fees
Consultation fees are determined by the amount of time required. Testing is additional. We are happy to discuss our fees with you.
We request payment at the time of service. Patients are provided with an itemized bill for their insurance company. Our office operates as a self-pay office. We accept cash, checks or credit cards.
Insurance
Dr. Brodsky is an out-of-network provider for all private insurance plans. We do not bill your insurance directly. Our office will provide you with a coded receipt for services provided. You may submit that form to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. The amount you will receive depends on your insurance plan's policy for out-of-network providers, your deductible, copay, and your co-insurance. You might find it helpful to check with your insurance plan regarding out-of-network coverage of services prior to your visit.
Medicare
Dr. Brodsky is enrolled as a Medicare Provider. We will file your Medicare forms for you. Our policy is payment at time of service, and you will receive a partial reimbursement back from Medicare.
